Weigh-In Wednesday

Last week:  169.0

This week:  165.4

Total weight lost:  3.6

This week has been full of ups and downs, not all concerned with food.  I’m going through a lot and its been affecting my appetite, so I was able to easily stay within my points values for the week.

Why is cheese so delicious and why does it have so many points?  I could sit down with a block of cheese and all would be right with the world.

Frozen Vegetables
Today I realized that my bag of frozen vegetables was two points, not zero like I had thought.  How 0 x 4 = 2, I have no idea.
Frustration, thy name is California style vegetables.

Orange Tulips
I want to get some orange tulips wrapped in brown paper.  Does that exist in real life?  Or is that some farmers market find I’ve made up?

Ask and Ye Shall Receive (a tax return)

Besties, are any of you tax or accounting people out there?

I like to file my taxes early because the faster I file, the faster I get my refund, and the faster I can spend it on things at Target.

My tax refund has gotten smaller and smaller over the years (last year it was only a few hundred dollars) but this year it looks like I’ll have to OWE the government upwards of $700.

I’m not sure what happened.  I make 15K more than I did last year, so I assume that’s why I’m paying more taxes, but what  can I do to make sure this doesn’t happen again?  I’ve always heard the goal is to get to as close to zero as possible — zero owed and zero refunded.

I take one deduction, should I be taking zero?  I take the lump deduction and don’t itemize, should I be doing that?  I’m totally clueless when it comes to this stuff.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Weigh-In Wednesday

169.0

I really don’t remember the last time I was this heavy.

When I stepped on the scale this morning, a million thoughts ran through my mind:

This can’t be right.  The scale must be wrong.  I’m going to buy a new scale today.  I should eat less salty foods.  I’m probably holding a lot of water weight.  I need to work out at least once this week.  Why am I so fat?  How did it get this bad?  Maybe it’s because I’m off the pill.  Am I pregnant?  Should I take a pregnancy test?  I can’t believe I weigh this much.  I hope my pants fit today.  Maybe I shouldn’t wear pants anymore.  Does my boyfriend even think I’m attractive? I need to lose 10 pounds before our anniversary.  I don’t want him to look back at these pictures and just see his fat girlfriend.

So that’s my first goal:  lose 10 pounds by our anniversary.

Now, I understand that this is highly unlikely since our anniversary is the first week of February, but I’d really like to do this for him, and more importantly, for me.

He hasn’t said anything about my weight gain, but I know he notices it.  I’ve gained 15 pounds since we first started dating.  It’s hard not to notice.

My lowest weight in recent memory was 150 in 2007, but that was when I was on diet pills and was throwing up my meals.  This time I’m going to do it the right way.

Here’s the plan:

- Weight Watchers

- Work out three times this week

- Drink 100 oz water every day

- Watch my salt intake

Here’s to a great week.  And yes, I did order a new scale…just in case.
